I'm a software engineer and data science student
About me
I'm an enthusiastic Full-Stack Software Developer with broad knowledge and extensive experience in Requirements Engineering and Vocational Training.
Between 2015 and 2019, I completed my software engineering apprenticeship as part of the PLM IT department at HUBER+SUHNER, a swiss company leading in electrical and optical connectivity solutions. The global and multicultural environment gave me lot's of room to grow, while I conceptualised and developed several internal web applications (.NET) that helped improve performance and efficiency in many internal departments.
In 2020, I took over as vocational trainer of all software development apprentices, a rewarding task that I really enjoyed. My new role now also included Requirements Engineering for the IT projects, with a focus on system extensions and interfaces, working in close collaboration with the internal customers and external suppliers.
As of October 2022, I have been working as a freelance software engineer.
Lately, my projects have been shifting more and more towards Data Science, in the context of my ongoing Bachelor studies at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.
My professional experience
After the basis was laid with Requirements Engineering done, I managed projects for various initiatives from start to operations handover, either coordinating and overseeing solution implementations with external partners, or performing the software development myself.
Here are some specific projects I implemented during my 7 years at HUBER+SUHNER.
Web App for Data Analytics
I developed a web-based interactive production data analysis software that allows the Fiber Optics production plant in Herisau, AR to do predictive maintenance.
System Integration using REST interface
Successfully designed & implemented a REST interface that made the smooth integration of an acquired HUBER+SUHNER group company into the global PDM system possible.
CAD Data Migration
I partially led the post-merger CAD migration- and integration of an acquired HUBER+SUHNER group company in New Jersey, US.
My recent Data Science work
Research on early Alzheimer's predictors using ML
Researched possible predictors for Alzheimer’s disease applying NN models and a multi-model architecture trained on tabular data and MRI scans on the diverse ADNI dataset. Initial results achieved 88% accuracy on classifying change in AD diagnosis. We consolidated our findings in the form of a IEEE paper draft you can read below:
Cross-Selling Opportunities for a bank
Identified and ranked actionable cross-selling opportunities for a Czech bank based on their client profiles using explorative data analysis and machine learning algorithms. This project was based on this publicly available bank dataset.
Measurement and analysis of air quality in classrooms
This project was about end-to-end designing and implementing a reliable microcontroller measurement system to measure, persist and analyse air quality in classrooms within our challenge team. We utilized an IoT protocol, time series database and python for our explorative data analysis. This work resulted in a guideline for the school on how to ventilate their classrooms for optimal air quality. You can read the project report here.
Personal Projects
When I am not working or studying for once, I am out in nature, hiking with my camera, mountain biking, or reading an interesting book.
